Presentation: Arnaud Richard

The Francophone Studies Working Group is honored to welcome Arnaud Richard, associate professor at Université Paul-Valéry, Montpellier 3 (Montpellier, France) and a visiting scholar at the Berkeley Language Center.
Professor Richard has agreed to share with us his recent work on the use of the French language in preventive medicine campaigns in both Africa and the Caribbean. He will present a corpus of work from both these regions, focusing primarily on the discourse used in preventive campaigns against cholera and ebola.
The presentation should be of interest to individuals across fields working on Africa and the Caribbean, and in particular to linguists or anybody with an interest in public health and medicine.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Please RSVP to if you are planning to attend.

See poster (below) for more information.
