Folklore Roundtable

The Folklore Roundtable is a long-established working group composed of undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty drawn from the various fields of study whose research intersects with folklore.  It provides a forum for the investigation of current trends in folklore research and for the exploration of reigning paradigms and perspectives from different disciplines. We have found particularly enriching the cooperation of students and faculty, approaching folklore from diverse theoretical backgrounds, and studying different geographical or historical areas. This collaboration yields insight into the international and interdisciplinary nature of folklore, and brings together the distinct traditions and emphases in the study of folklore in different countries and cultural contexts. The Folklore Roundtable student working group is administered from the Folklore Archives, the hub of the Berkeley Folklore Program.
