Native American Studies: The Politics of Identity

The Native American Studies: The Politics of Identity working group discusses the dynamisms of contemporary Native American identity. Our group is dedicated to issues concerning Native Americans that influence, and are influenced by, all academic disciplines. As inherently interdisciplinary, Native American Studies scholarship on identity foregrounds its intersections with many factors such as: land, race, law, socio-economic status, gender, modernity, nationality, and others. Because of this, our working group will continue in the tradition of exploring identity through essential texts, contemporary issues, and notable figures who contribute to these multiple articulations of contemporary Native American identity.
