French and Francophone Film Working Group

French and Francophone Film Working Group

The French and Francophone Film Working Group provides a forum for students and faculty of all departments to view and discuss films and texts related to all periods and genres of French and Francophone cinema. Its overall intellectual aim is to understand the current idea of the canon of French-language cinema, and to explore alternatives to it, drawing on mainstream as well as experimental films.

On the Record: Musicians, Labels, and Fans in 2013

Please join us for a panel discussion with Amanda Brown, co-founder of the Not Not Fun and 100% Silk labels, Dawson Ludwig, marketing director at Noise Pop, and Jaime Nabrynski, projects manager at Zeitgeist Managment, who will be exploring contemporary issues in the music industry: what rights do labels afford musicians? how do fanbases develop? what are the ethics related to music marketing and consumption?

Light refreshments will be served. The event is open to the public.
